On July 24, 2021, we organized an audiophile listening day in cooperation with other manufacturers of high-end components, including speaker manufacturer Wolf von Langa. The focus is on our TM1 turntable.

This could be listened to in an exclusive, scheduled, 45-minute listening session with records that we had brought ourselves or with our audiophile demonstration vinyl discs. Registration and appointments were made via theCoburg design workshop.

"Miracles are happening from time to time..."

Here is the test on FIDELITY online

"On all turntables, the clear definition of individual tones increased in a clearly understandable way. Each sound event seemed more clearly outlined, the space correspondingly more cleanly divided. Excitingly, there was no tonal coloring, which is the case with most other weights. Normally, you have to have the right accessories for the turntable search, the M1 fit right away everywhere, because it doesn't interfere tonally and just cleans up."

Turntable M1 test report

In the Image Hifi, edition6/2020our turntable M1 was presented in a 14-page test report. We are happy about the positive feedback.

"The ars machinae turntable is an excellent newcomer in its class, which is peppered with powerful competitors. The teamwork of mechanical engineer and product designer has succeeded in creating a timelessly beautiful, compact industrial design, whose perfectly coordinated combination of tonearm and turntable and its in neutral sound in the best sense of the word make it a kind of instant classic.Decades of experience in the construction of large machine tools and the resulting security in the combination of different materials as well as this airy, non-technical aesthetic suggest a simplicity and lightness that can only be achieved with mastery. Review
Turntable M1

Our recordplayer M1 with tonearm, our Ars M1 record clamp and Lignum L tonearm and the UMAI turntable table were featured in the record player special edition of the Magazine Lp5/20 tested.

Here are three quotes about the M1 from the test report by Lp editor Thomas Schmidt:

"Terms like "noble", "high quality", "aristocratic" come to mind spontaneously when the first tones sound after the lead-in groove."

"And the M1 is seriously good as a turntable - it sounds big, almost untouchable despite its compact size."

“Spatial overview, fine and coarse dynamics fully explore the possibilities of the record medium. The better the disc you play, the more the combination plays free of any technical details and considerations, but lets the music speak for itself. Can one say more about the Ars Machinae class?”

And another quote from the test report by LP editor Thomas Schmidt on the subject of record clamps:

“And even the 1,43 lbs record clamp contains a lot of design work – after all, it was developed together with the Fraunhofer Institute and has chambers inside that are filled with a highly dampening powder. Interestingly, the weight on the M1 itself did not increase at all, which clearly speaks for the high quality of the drive. On the other hand, the effect on third-party products with "ringing plates" ranges from "clear" to "striking".
